Holiday Cranberry Mimosa

Holiday Cranberry Mimosa… I can’t think of a better way to wake up on Christmas morning. This Mimosa is mostly champagne with a generous splash of cranberry juice and garnished with fresh cranberries. The recipe is ridiculously easy, but it is so festive and beautiful and sure to get you in the Christmas Spirit!

Christmas Morning Cranberry Mimosa

Cranberry flavor is perfect for Christmas and pairs so well with Champagne!

While this recipe is incredibly easy, it’s cranberry flavor is perfect for the Holidays. I personally am not a huge cranberry fan, but it pairs so well with Champagne that I actually prefer it over Orange Juice. Plus, cranberries have many health benefits. While cranberries get less attention than other berries like blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries… they are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. Studies have shown cranberries can help reduce risk of stress. The holidays are a stressful time, so relax with this Cranberry Mimosa and allow your stress to float away!

Allow yourself to Indulge, but don’t Over Indulge!

I know this is a health food blog, but I truly believe in everything in moderation and that is how I live my life. It’s the Holidays and a time of eating and drinking and being Merry, so allow yourself to enjoy it! The month of December is full of holiday parties and entertaining. I get it…travels, family, food, crazy schedules, missed workouts, and wine… lots of wine! For me, I stay kind to my body and I still schedule in time to workout and eat fruits and veggies because that is what makes me feel good.

I do my best to eat well throughout the week, whenever possible, knowing I will indulge in cheese, cookies and wine during the weekend. If I am attending a Christmas Party at night then I eat a better breakfast and lunch and drink A LOT of water throughout the day. Have healthy options readily available for the day after too. This will keep you on track yet allow you to still enjoy food! Also, eat in moderation, there is no need eat a whole plate of cookies, but one or two won’t hurt. You won’t feel well after over eating anyways! I will be enjoying this mimosa tonight while baking Holiday cookies with my mom and blasting Mariah Carey Christmas music because that is what the Holiday season is all about.

Sugared Cranberries:

The cranberries are just for garnish so you don’t actually eat them… unless you want to, of course. For a sweeter drink and an even more festive looking drink use Sugared Cranberries… Add 1 cup of sugar and roughly 1/3 cup water to a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until the sugar completely dissolves, bring to a boil and cook for a few minutes. Set aside and allow to cool. Once the syrup is cool, pour the liquid over cranberries in a bowl. Roll the berries in extra sugar.
